What is in the ATL Senior Advisor facility directory?
Every active Georgia-licensed Assisted Living Community, and every Personal Care Home licensed for 25 or more beds, in eight Metro Atlanta counties — 207 in all (55 in Fulton, 21 in DeKalb, 42 in Cobb, 39 in Gwinnett, 6 in Clayton, 21 in Cherokee, 13 in Forsyth, 10 in Henry) — with the license number, licensed beds, phone and the 551 HFRD inspection and complaint surveys indexed for them over the past three years.
Why does Georgia have two assisted living license types?
Georgia licenses Personal Care Homes, which can be anything from a four-bed house to a large building, and Assisted Living Communities, which are personal care homes with 25 or more beds that HFRD has approved for a higher level of hands-on care, including medication help from certified medication aides. Both are inspected by the same division.
What is the difference between assisted living and memory care in Georgia?
Assisted living in Georgia is a licensed Personal Care Home or Assisted Living Community that provides housing, meals, medication help and hands-on personal care; memory care is that same setting delivered in a secured, dementia-specific unit that must meet Georgia's extra Memory Care Center rules. HFRD licenses the building as a PCH or ALC and certifies the memory care unit on top of that license.
